Ajman University honored the school students who participated in the “Mathematics Olympiad” organized by the College of Education and Basic Sciences and the Student Recruitment Office. 165 students representing 38 schools from across UAE had participated in the competition for the mathematics genius.
Dr. Karim Seghir, AU Chancellor stressed that the noble mission of the educational institutions is to graduate generations of scientists, teachers and entrepreneurs. This can only be achieved through rigorous academic programs that meet the needs of the labor market. He pointed out that 2018 marks the 30 years since AU’s inception and till date they have continued the tradition of graduating cohorts of exceptional cadre hailing from 80 nationalities 36000 graduates are excelling in their careers and achievements across the globe. Dr. Seghir thanked the participating schools and encouraged the students to pursue their talents. The first place winner was Al Shola School, while the second place was bagged by Gems Westminster while third and fourth place was secured by Al Ameer Secondary and Al Noor International School respectively. The aim of this competition is to discover the scientific talent amongst students in the various areas of mathematics. Such competitions encourage students to think beyond the box and utilize critical analysis one of the goals of the Ministry of Education.
