Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Ajman Crown Prince and Chairman of the Ajman Executive Council, Innovation Centre at Ajman University organized DEMO Day an exhibition of innovation and entrepreneurship, themed “Innovation for Happiness”. This comes within the framework of upholding the spirit of Innovation Month in UAE.
Demo day brought together the best and brightest of the entrepreneurial ecosystem, latest innovative technology, UAE top startups showcase, SME’s, governments, international organization and creative student’s projects. Connecting investors and growing businesses with startups by students and public.
Dr. Karim Seghir, AU Chancellor expressed his pride in the students achievement and their relentless dedication at turning an idea into reality. Upholding AU’s tradition of promoting, supporting and celebrating innovation this event is a culmination of all the efforts exerted by the students, staff, faculty, he further added, that the common denominator between the 24 brilliant projects was innovation and commitment to change. AU learning environment nurtures and promotes innovation in all its forms all across the board, Chancellor Seghir pointed out.
Key speakers included Inno Robot who commented on the growing reliance on artificial intelligence and robotics. Idris Al Rifai, Founder and owner of Fetchr also delivered an inspiring speech to motivate the startups and encourage the students to follow their passion to achieve their goals.
The exhibition included 24 innovative projects and start-ups incubated at AU Innovation Centre. Several government and private companies also presented their projects and innovations, including the researches for new innovations. The visitors were enthralled by the virtual reality booths and interactive sections that challenged the participants creativity and innovative spirit.
The organization of this event by AUIC at Ajman University ascertains the belief in the importance of creating a generation of entrepreneurs, industrialists, and innovators. This coincides with the celebration of the national month of innovation all across UAE.
The award ceremony witnessed projects in the categories of Business start-up, best prototype student project, Socially responsible business award, Tech start up and scalable business award. Projects were awarded prizes ranging from AED 20,000 to AED 5000.
