Salem Hassan Abu Fanas

Dr. Salem Hassan Abu Fanas, BDS, MSc, PhD, FADI, earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) from Garyounis University in Benghazi, Libya, and completed both his MSc and PhD at Manchester University in the UK. Following his doctorate, he joined Arab Medical University in Benghazi as academic staff and later became Head of the Department of Periodontics. Currently a Visiting Professor at Misrata Dental College, Dr. Abu Fanas has been a faculty member at Ajman University since 1999. He played a key role in the accreditation of the DDS program and later served as Clinical Supervisor and Head of the Surgical Sciences Department. He successfully led the establishment of the College of Dentistry in Fujairah, the dental internship training program across both campuses, and the postgraduate program in Ajman. Dr. Abu Fanas currently heads the accreditation team for all academic programs in the College of Dentistry and oversees joint affairs with international institutions, including the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. In 2007, he was awarded the Fellowship of the Academy of Dentistry International (FADI), USA, for his outstanding contributions to dentistry. He currently serves as Professor and Dean of the College of Dentistry at Ajman University.
