Dr. Raghad Hashim joined the Dental College of Ajman University in 2000. She served as the Head of the Growth and Development Department from 2008 to 2020 and is currently an Associate Professor. She received both her Ph.D. (2007) and Master's degree (1999) from Otago University, New Zealand. Her primary interest lies in child-centered dental research aimed at improving the oral health and treatment experiences of children. Dr. Hashim has published and presented numerous research projects nationally and internationally. Her research findings have been widely recognized, and she has received several prestigious awards, including the Venus International Woman Award, where she was honored as a Distinguished Woman in Health and Medical Sciences for her contributions to dental research. She has also been the recipient of the H.H Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Award for Distinguished Medical Research in the GCC four times, in 2012, 2013, 2015, and 2017. Additionally, Dr. Hashim received the Arab Dental Faculties Award for the best scientific research conducted by a dental faculty member from Arab universities in 2008. She was also awarded the Colgate Research in Prevention Award (USA) in 2007 from the International Association of Dental Research (IADR) and the Sultan Al-Owais Award for conducting the best medical research in the UAE in 2005.
