Raghad Adib Hashim

Dr. Raghad Hashim has joined the Dental College of Ajman University in 2000. She was the Head of Growth and Development Department from 2008 -2020. Currently, she is an Associate Professor. She has received both of her Ph.D. (2007) and Master degrees (1999) from Otago University, New Zealand. Her main interest is child-centered dental research to improve the oral health and treatment experiences of children. She has had published and presented nationally and internationally many research projects. Her research findings were recognized and honored by receiving Venus International Woman Award; she was recognized as a distinguished Woman in Health and Medical Sciences for her contribution and achievement in the field of dental research in addition to receiving HH Sheikh Rashid Bin Humaid Award for Distinguished Medical Research in the GCC four times in year 2012, 2013, 2015 and 2017. Furthermore she received the Arab Dental Faculties Award, for the best scientific research, conducted by the dental faculties’ member working in the Arab universities for the year 2008. Moreover, she received Colgate Research in Prevention Award- USA (2007) from the International Association of Dental Research (IADR) additionally she been awarded Sultan Al-Owais Award for conducting the best medical research in UAE (2005).

Teaching Area
  • Within her teaching responsibilities, she was the coordinator and course instructor of the Introduction to Oral & Dental Diseases; and Preventive Dentistry. In addition to organizing the School Health Program in the Emirate of Ajman.
Research
  • Her main research area is dental epidemiology with emphasis on epidemiology of dental caries and risk factors in addition to selecting interventions and strategies for the prevention, control of oral diseases and promotion of oral health.
