This course is divided in two parts – Part A - Clinical Governance; B - Healthcare Ethics and Law. Part A aims at providing the students with the required knowledge and understanding of the models of clinical governance (clinical effectiveness, audit, risk management, education and training, policies and research practice, use of information management and data protection and the openness). Personal and professional development as part of the delivery of proper dental services will also be emphasized. Part B discusses the ethical conduct and laws that apply to the practice of pediatric dentistry in the UAE, including proper delivery of information to patients and obtaining informed consent for treatment.  Issues about doctor-patient relationship, and with other dentists and the general community would also be discussed.
