Ammar Al Nuaimi Chairs the Meeting of Ajman University Board of Trustees

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman Chairman of the Executive Council, chaired the meeting of Ajman University’s Board of Trustees held at the University’s premises in the presence of Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Chairman of Ajman Municipality and Planning Department and Vice Chairman of Ajman University's Board of Trustees.

His Highness Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid Al Nuaimi extended a warm welcome to the members of the Board of Trustees. He praised their efforts and dedication to all aspects of the University, including its programs, its progress in various academic, research, and administrative fields. He also commended the University's global standing as one of the distinguished and leading educational institutions in the region and the world, all in pursuit of the University's mission to graduate generations of high-achieving leaders in education.

During the meeting, His Highness reviewed some of Ajman University’s achievements across various domains, reflecting the high quality of education provided to students. Ajman University has risen to the 22nd position, according to the 2024 QS Arab Region Rankings, marking a significant advancement of five positions compared to the previous year. Additionally, the University achieved another milestone, as 11 faculty members were included in Stanford University's list of the top 2% of scientists worldwide for the year 2023, including distinguished researchers with highly cited scientific publications. Furthermore, Ajman University received the Excellence Award from the National Centre for Health Research at the Ministry of Health and Prevention, ranking among the Top 10 institutions in the UAE in two categories: Health Research, and Medical Research. His Highness also took note of the University’s strong emphasis on student employability, the center of gravity of AU’s 2022-2027 Strategic Plan, aiming to empower students for impactful careers. This commitment is further manifested in the launch of Masar Career Excellence.

His Highness Sheikh Ammar stated, "These outstanding achievements clearly demonstrate Ajman University's steadfast commitment to delivering high-quality educational and academic programs, making it a prominent beacon in the field of education worldwide. The University's efforts are evident in its continuous pursuit of excellence in education and scientific research, through the adoption of visionary approaches aimed at graduating outstanding individuals equipped with academic and leadership skills applicable in the highly dynamic job market."

During the meeting, the Board of Trustees reviewed the reports of the heads of the standing committees of the Board of Trustees on academic and financial matters, as well as community engagement. Additionally, various topics related to various educational, academic, and administrative aspects of Ajman University were discussed, and several policies were approved that will contribute to achieving the University's aspirations and continued progress. The Board also approved the graduation lists, totaling more than 900 graduates, in addition to the revised policies and procedures handbook and several specific regulations related to the University.

Commenting on Ajman University's involvement in COP28, Sheikh Rashid remarked, "The contributions of Ajman University at COP28 are testament to its unwavering commitment to sustainability and environmental responsibility. Their efforts showcase the leading role that educational institutions can play in shaping a greener future." 

On the other hand, a memorandum of understanding was signed between Ajman Executive Council and Ajman University. This agreement seeks to foster constructive cooperation between the two entities, facilitate the exchange of experiences, and enhance technical and scientific capabilities in various fields of research. This collaboration aims to achieve the goals, visions, plans, and programs of both parties. The MoU was signed on behalf of Ajman Executive Council by Dr. Saeed Saif Al Matroushi, Secretary-General, and on behalf of Ajman University by Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor.

“This MoU between Ajman University and Ajman Executive Council is a significant step towards aligning our research and technical strengths with the broader developmental objectives of Ajman government. By facilitating the exchange of experiences and enhancing our capabilities in pivotal research areas, we are setting the groundwork for transformative outcomes. This collaboration is more than just an agreement; it's a dedicated commitment to jointly propel our visions and plans to new heights", stated Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University.

The meeting was attended by members of the Board of Trustees H.E. Abdullah Humaid Al Mazrouei, Mr. Abdullah Muhammad Al Muwaiji, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Ajman Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Saeed Saif Al Matrooshi, Secretary-General of the Executive Council in Ajman, Dr. Amna Al Dahak Al Shamsi, Assistant Undersecretary for the Care and Activities Sector at the Ministry of Education, Dr. Raja Easa Al Gurg, CEO of the Easa Saleh Group Al Gurg, Dr. Amina Abdul Wahed Al Rostamani, Board Member and Director of the Abdul Wahed Al Rostamani Family Company, Mr. Rashid Abdul Rahman bin Jubran Al Suwaidi, Director General of Ajman Government Human Resources Department, and Dr. Karim Seghir, Chancellor of Ajman University.
