In line with the principle of learning through practice and application, and with a focus on providing a rich educational experience, the College of Mass Communication organized a field trip to Dubai’s heritage area.
The visit, which was supervised by Professor Maha Abdelmajid and Mrs. Asmaa Al Tamna, covered key locations such as the Al Seef area, Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, the Grand Souk, and Al Shindagha. Students from courses on Communication Theories, Research Methods, and Digital Photography participated in the field trip.
The students explored the historic neighborhoods of Bur Dubai, capturing photographs with the modern digital photography equipment provided by the college. They also recorded several video clips to document the beauty of the heritage sites. The visit offered a unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the cultural environment and gain new insights for their work in digital photography and mass communication research. On the sidelines, a competition was held in three categories: Best Photograph, Best Short Video, and Best Research Idea.
Students expressed their gratitude for the experience, which allowed them to engage with Dubai’s heritage from an academic and practical perspective, enriching their understanding of mass communication.
