In a significant step aimed at enhancing Ajman University’s international collaboration, Faculty Member Dr. Mohamad Khairi Ishak represented the institution in a key sustainable tourism development initiative in Milan, Italy. The event, held on February 26-27, 2024, was fully funded by the ERASMUS Fund.
Dr. Ishak is a Faculty Member of the Department of Electrical Engineering in the College of Engineering and IT.
Dr. Ishak’s representation at this international event is significant for promoting his and Ajman University’s role as a key contributor to ERASMUS projects on the global stage. The project, officially titled "Smart, Optimized, High-quality and On-Demand Tourism Innovative Education For Sustainable and Green Development (SOHO)", receives financial support from the European Union (EU) and is spearheaded by Universitatea Politehnica Din Bucuresti, Romania.
SOHO's main focus is on sustainable tourism, specifically addressing environmental aspects, green energy, and smart technologies. Each Knowledge & Competence Center will explore challenges related to its national context, facilitating a peer-learning approach among participating institutions from UAE, Malaysia, Vietnam, Bangladesh, Italy, France and Romania.
This meeting serves as a stepping stone for Ajman University to collaborate and engage in various ERASMUS projects and international grants. Overall, it signifies the institution's commitment to playing a significant role in the global landscape of sustainable and innovative education.
