Ajman University Hosts Distinguished Neurobiology Researcher Prof. Karl Peter Giese

Ajman University was pleased to host Professor Karl Peter Giese, a distinguished neurobiology researcher, for a productive three-day visit during which he shared extensive insights on his research into Alzheimer’s disease and related topics. Prof. Giese is Professor of Neurobiology and Mental Health and Co-Head of the Basic and Clinical Neuroscience Department at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology and Neuroscience, King’s College London.

Professor Giese participated in a Dean’s briefing, campus tour, and meetings with faculty to discuss joint academic goals and potential research collaborations.

A highlight of his visit was a faculty seminar on elevated protein synthesis in early Alzheimer’s disease, offering insights into mechanisms behind cognitive decline. Professor Giese also led research meetings with the Neurobiology and Mental Health Interest Groups, exploring shared interests and advancements in these fields.

Additionally, he conducted a student seminar on research methodologies, providing guidance on research design and analysis. His visit concluded with discussions on potential joint research projects, fostering academic exchange and future partnerships. Professor Giese’s insights and contributions serve as an inspiration for both faculty and students to pursue excellence in their academic and research endeavors.
