Ajman University Participates in the AAC Seminar on “Integrity in the Age of AI”

Dr. Khaled Assaleh, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs at Ajman University, participated in a panel discussion organized by the Commission for Academic Accreditation, titled "Academic Integrity 2.0: Integrity in the Age of AI," held at New York University Abu Dhabi. His participation focused on opportunities and challenges associated with artificial intelligence technologies in higher education, highlighting the importance of developing policies and regulations to govern the utilization of these technologies and limit the negative potential impacts.

Dr. Khaled emphasized the importance of enhancing the learning experience by the proper use of   modern technology and artificial intelligence systems, including the recently released applications of generative AI. He also pointed out the need to establish a balance between reliance on these technologies and using them with caution along with academic integrity.

"The use of artificial intelligence should be a means to enhance the learning experience, not replace it. We must raise awareness and guide students on how to use these technologies properly to maximize their benefits without negatively impacting the quality and integrity of higher education. Overall, we should use artificial intelligence cautiously and wisely, as it can be a double-edged sword and use it to enhance academic and professional integrity in the learning process", said Dr. Khaled Assaleh.
