Ajman University is proud to announce that Ajman University Innovation Centre (AUIC) has been granted the Certified Business Incubator recognition by Hamdan Innovation Incubator (Hi2), a unique government-backed initiative by Dubai SME aimed at accelerating innovation in the UAE.
Hi2 aims to empower Dubai as the entrepreneurial capital of the MENA region by helping budding entrepreneurs successfully launch their business and achieve tangible growth. With this aim, Hi2 recognises and certifies institutions engaged in incubating innovative start-ups and facilitating their growth.
AUIC will be the first Certified Incubator by Hi2 outside of Dubai.
AUIC as a Certified Business Incubator will focus on best practices followed globally to encourage innovation, with students, start-ups, and external entrepreneurs standing to benefit from state-of-the-art infrastructure and other related facilities, including common workspaces and incentives to launch their projects.
“Ajman University is proud to acknowledge AUIC’s recognition as a Certified Business Incubator by Hi2. Innovation is one of the core values of AU and it is our constant endeavour to instil a sense of entrepreneurship and innovation among our students. AUIC not only plays a pivotal role in helping AU students achieve their entrepreneurial ambitions, but also acts as an innovation ecosystem for the larger business community in Ajman and the UAE,” said Ajman University Chancellor, Dr. Karim Seghir.
Launched in 2014 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council, Hamdan Innovation Incubator aims at strengthening Dubai’s position as a global hub for technologies and innovative solutions. HI2 has a portfolio of 600 innovative start-ups to its credit so far.
