Under the theme of health and well-being, Dr. Rasha participated in the 10th My Health Conference, organized by the Health Education Department of the Sharjah government and held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi on October 23-24 at the University of Sharjah.
In her presentation, Dr. Rasha explored societal trends and the social stigma surrounding mental health disorders. She noted how perceptions have significantly improved since the Covid-19 crisis, emphasizing the critical importance of mental health and the need to cultivate a psychologically safe society. Dr. Rasha advocated for the development of citizens who can adaptively and effectively manage life’s pressures.
She also highlighted the necessity of incorporating mental health concepts into educational curricula and the importance of supporting mental health initiatives in society. Furthermore, she called for enhancing the role of counselling in educational institutions at all levels to foster resilience and adaptability within our community.
The conference attracted numerous professors and researchers from various Arab and foreign countries, providing an excellent platform for the exchange of scientific ideas. I would like to express my gratitude to the conference organizers for this invaluable experience.
