On November 24, 2023, the Sociology Department held a discussions session for students regarding their field training. This involved students enrolled in Training 1, Training 2, and an older program. A total of 69 students participated, working in 23 social institutions across various sectors and locations in all Emirates except Fujairah. The Head of the Sociology Department, Dr. Soumaya Abdellatif, as well as other professors from the department attended the discussions.
These institutions covered various areas including: education, family counseling, care centers, rehabilitation facilities, counseling centers, and charitable associations. The students gained practical skills, connected with the local community, and built collaborations between the department and these institutions.
The training was supervised by Dr. Enaam Youssef, the Field Training Coordinator, and Ms. Sahar Zahran, the Academic Supervisor. The discussions led to valuable ideas and skills gained by the students during their field training, along with supportive recommendations.
This initiative not only equipped students with practical experiences and skills, but also strengthened the department's ties with various institutions. The success of the training discussions reflects the Sociology Department's commitment to enhancing students' practical knowledge and building connections with the broader community.
