“The Relations Between French and English Literatures” Webinar
On April 25th, 2021, a Webinar was organized by the Department of Foreign Languages titled “The Relations Between French and English Literatures” featuring guest speaker Dr. Guillaume Thouroude, an assistant Professor at the University of Jilin in China.
The goal of the Webinar was to discuss the exchanges between several languages and cultures in order to identify the phenomenon of influences, crossings, domination and borrowings that always appear in cultural identities.
Ms. Karima ben Barakah, a French lecturer at Ajman University, gave a presentation on the history of languages. Followed by Dr. Thouroude who gave a presentation on the role that France play in the creation and development of modern literature.
Attendees of the Webinar included Dr. Bilal Ibrahim, head of the Department, several faculty members of the department, and many students.
The Webinar was an extremely successful and highly appreciated by all attendees
