Introduction

Psychology is considered one of the most important humanistic and scientific fields, closely tied to life and society. It is among the most pressing and in-demand disciplines in the present era, given the challenges and disorders individuals face due to the tremendous advancements in scientific and intellectual progress, as well as the development of social media, which has significantly impacted direct human interaction.

The Department of Psychology is one of the newly established departments in the College of Humanities and Sciences at Ajman University. It was founded in accordance with the national and international standards for higher education institutions and the accreditation of academic programs in the United Arab Emirates.

The Bachelor of Arts in Psychology program comprises 120 credit hours that students must complete to fulfill graduation requirements successfully. The program includes 39 courses, each equivalent to three credit hours, in addition to six credit hours allocated for practical training. To earn the bachelor's degree, students must successfully complete all the required credit hours. The course distribution is as follows:

  • 28 compulsory courses equivalent to 87 credit hours.
  • 11 elective courses equivalent to 33 credit hours.

Our mission is to qualify and develop specialized professionals in the field of psychological services, providing them with the scientific, professional, and research skills necessary to meet the evolving needs of the market.

    • Equipping students with knowledge of theoretical approaches in psychology and their practical applications.
    • Training students to apply scientific thinking when interpreting various psychological phenomena.
    • Preparing students to provide basic psychological services under supervision.
    • Developing psychology professionals capable of applying ethical standards in their professional practice.
    • Providing students with the skills necessary to analyse psychological information and statistical data, including the ability to write comprehensive reports.
    • Enhancing students' abilities in creative and critical thinking, as well as scientific research skills.
    • Improving students' communication skills, enabling them to interact effectively with individuals, groups, and diverse situations.
    • Preparing graduates who are capable of assuming social responsibilities in their work
