Esteemed Scholar and Business Leader Dr. Moustapha Sarhank Inspires CBA Students and Faculty with Ethical Leadership Insights

The College of Business Administration hosted esteemed scholar and business leader Dr. Moustapha Sarhank on November 9, 2024. Dr. Sarhank’s distinguished career includes spearheading the launch of Microsoft, Oracle, and Internet Security Systems (ISS) in Egypt and the Middle East, serving as Executive Chairman of International Business Associates Group for Money Transfer Services (IBAG) in Egypt, and as President of the Sarhank Group for Investments. He is also a Fellow at the Olsson Center for Applied Ethics at the Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. Dr. Sarhank has developed a Sufi Corporate Leadership Model, which merges spiritual self-awareness with contemporary management practices. The model is the subject of his book Bringing the Right Arm Back: A Journey in Sufi Corporate Leadership. In his engaging presentation, Dr. Sarhank highlighted the links between responsible management practices and long-term business success, captivating an audience of CBA graduate students and faculty members with deep insights on the importance of ethical, purpose-driven leadership for achieving sustainable organizational growth.

Dr. Sarhank expressed his appreciation of the warm reception he received, as well as the enthusiasm of the audience to engage in discussions on the Sufi Corporate Leadership Model. The CBA community looks forward to future collaborations with Dr. Sarhank.
