Enhancing Employability: Highlights from the ACCA Awareness Session

In light of the recent announcement of eight ACCA exemptions awarded to its Bachelor of Science in Accounting program, Ajman University’s College of Business Administration organized an ACCA Exemption Awareness Session on September 25, 2024. The session was delivered by Mr. Ahmad Bilal Manzoor, Regional Business Relationships Executive at ACCA Middle East. The event, held at the College of Business Administration, was attended by approximately 120 students, primarily from the 3rd and 4th year cohorts of the accounting program.

The session commenced with a warm welcome by the Head of the Accounting Department, Prof. Ibrahim Elsiddig, who expressed the importance of such initiatives in bridging the gap between academic knowledge and professional qualifications. Prof. Akinola Fadahunsi, the Dean of the College of Business Administration, further inspired the attendees with his motivational speech, highlighting the transformative power of professional certifications like ACCA in shaping successful careers.

Mr. Manzoor delivered an engaging presentation on the significance of ACCA certification in the UAE and globally, emphasizing its role in enhancing employability and offering a competitive edge to accounting professionals. He explained the eight-paper exemption for Ajman University students, highlighting how it accelerates their ACCA certification process. Key topics included the global relevance of ACCA, career advancement opportunities, and practical advice on claiming exemptions. The session concluded with a lively Q&A, leaving students motivated and well-informed. Ajman University’s College of Business Administration plans further professional development activities, including an accelerated ACCA program, to support students' career growth.
