The Department of Finance at Ajman University's College of Business Administration (CBA) hosted an information session titled 'Your Gateway to the World of Finance' on May 30, attended by senior high school students from the School of Modern Skills in Dubai and Sharjah Indian School.
The session commenced with Dr. Rajesh Mohnot, Head of the Finance Department, highlighting the significant achievements of the College of Business Administration. Dr. Mohnot briefed the students on the four undergraduate programs offered by the College of Business Administration and discussed recent advancements in the finance sector, emphasizing the growing popularity of finance in today's job market. Students currently enrolled in the Finance program were then invited to share their experiences at Ajman University.
4th year student Dani George accompanied the audience on his journey of transition from high school to university, sharing his experience studying finance at AU, and his motivations for choosing this path. He emphasized the importance of active participation and volunteering in clubs like the Finance and Accounting Club (FACT). 3rd year student Riad Bassam delved into his experiences as a high school graduate, sharing his journey of initially questioning finance's fit, only to uncover its vast potential and relevance, finding it rewarding to introduce high school students to the field. Another 2nd year student Mohammed Adnan highlighted the department's initiatives that honed his skills and expressed his enthusiasm for the Finance discipline.
Following these discussions, a quiz gauged the audience's understanding of finance, fostering engaging discussions, then the session concluded with a Q&A segment where attendees explored topics including Finance certifications, its contemporary relevance, and career prospects.
