Navigating the Job Market: Insights from Business Executive Abdelghani Abdullah

More than 80 students of the College of Business Administration (CBA) attended an informative presentation by Business Executive and College Strategic Advisory Board member Mr. Abdelghani Abdullah on October 24th 2023. A senior group director in a local multinational corporation, Mr Abdullah shared his expertise with the enthralled students, providing insights into preparing for the job market. The session was also attended by several CBA faculty members. Emphasizing the significance of having a long-term vision and taking consistent steps, Mr. Abdullah underscored how body language, personality, and attitude can be pivotal in determining an interview’s success.

The initial presentation was followed by an hour-long Q&A session that continued beyond the allotted time during which students actively engaged Mr Abdullah with a variety of questions to which he provided thoughtful answers. He shed light on potential salary expectations for fresh graduates, stressed the merits of acquiring real-world experience during university breaks, underscored the importance of volunteer work, among several other warmly-received comments. The students in attendance praised Mr Abdullah’s insights and appreciated the session for helping them to better navigate the impending world of work.
