In a recent and encouraging development, Ajman University's College of Business Administration (CBA) has begun exploring the possibility of a unique 2 + 2 program with Eastern Michigan University's (EMU) College of Business. This collaboration took a significant step forward with Antony's visit to EMU's campus on July 18, 2023. During his visit, fruitful discussions focused on crafting an academically enriching environment and addressing the cultural needs and well-being of Ajman University's students. The trip also included an engaging tour with Ms. Eva Blank of EMU's International Programs and Partnerships, as well as discussions on the Optional Practical Training (OPT) visa, offering students the chance to work in the U.S.
A key highlight of the visit was a meeting with Dr. Abdelhamid Algizawi, the senior Imam of the Islamic Centre of Ann Arbor (ICA). Recognizing the importance of cultural and faith-based support, discussions were conducted to explore ways to ensure a welcoming environment for Ajman University's students abroad. The Imam was highly supportive, offering assistance with housing and other aspects of life in Ann Arbor. Additionally, the strong Muslim Female Association within ICA promises a nurturing community, particularly for our female students. This significant step underscores Ajman University's commitment to understanding and addressing the cultural needs of our students.
The collaboration represents a substantial step towards Ajman University's global recognition, fostering international projects and partnerships. The leadership, faculty, and staff are now working closely to refine the plans and align the strategies with the ambitious goals set by the college. We are proud to be moving towards an academic future that is as enriching and exciting as it is supportive and understanding.
Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting initiative!
