Prof Venkitachalam Addresses NOIDA MBA Students
Prof. Krishna Venkitachalam delivered a talk on Knowledge Management (KM) to a visiting delegation of MBA students from Noida Institute of Engineering & Technology (NIET), India on Wednesday, September 28th 2022.
Entitled “What is Knowledge Management About)?”, Prof. Venkitachalam’s talk covered some of the core concepts in the discipline of Knowledge Management (KM). This included what knowledge is and related types, its interdisciplinarity with other disciplines; changing focus from physical assets to knowledge assets, importance of KM in the age of context and complexity; and how KM can contribute to value creation, all within the framework of organisations. The lecture also highlighted the historic evolution of KM as a valuable field of study within the broad area of business administration.
The Noida students' responses were of curiosity to listen and engaged participation with Prof. Venkitachalam to learn about the distinction between data, information and knowledge and the critical role Knowledge Management can play in the emerging age of Artificial Intelligence and Big Data in businesses."
