Ajman University proudly celebrates the achievement of Sima Ahmad Zakzak, a senior architecture student, who recently represented the University as a panelist in the "Girls Today, Leaders Tomorrow: Women Driving Change in the Built Environment" event, organized by the Emirates Green Building Council (EGBC) Women’s Network.

Sima was invited to share her insights on sustainable architecture during the event, an integral part of Ajman University’s commitment to sustainability. Under the supervision of Dr. Muna Salameh, a prominent faculty member in the field, Sima delivered a powerful discussion on the role of innovation in shaping sustainable architecture. She emphasized the importance of designing solutions that harmonize nature, human well-being, and environmental health.

“I strongly believe that sustainability in architecture should go beyond aesthetics and functionality,” Sima explained during the panel. “Future solutions must be forward-thinking and responsible, ensuring a balance between innovation and environmental preservation.”

Sima also highlighted the significance of mentorship within the industry. "Mentorship is a two-way process—both giving and receiving knowledge. It's crucial that we elevate each other and work together to drive meaningful change in the built environment," she said.

Dr. Muna Salameh expressed her pride in Sima’s accomplishment, stating, "It is inspiring to see students embrace sustainability and carry forward the knowledge and values instilled in them. My goal has always been to direct students toward sustainable design, and witnessing Sima shine in this arena is truly rewarding."

Ajman University’s ongoing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with EGBC further strengthens the University's commitment to sustainability and provides students like Sima with invaluable opportunities to engage in forward-thinking discussions and initiatives. Through this collaboration, Ajman University continues to prepare its students to lead the future of sustainable architecture.
