We are thrilled to announce that Mohammed Houssam, a dedicated student from the Architecture Department, along with his talented teammates from various majors, proudly represented Ajman University in the prestigious “Pathway to Net Zero” competition. Organized by the Institute of Environmental Management and Sustainability (IEMS) Academy in collaboration with the College of Business Administration at Ajman University, the competition brought together top university teams from across the UAE.
The team’s innovative project, “iPurify,” earned them an impressive 3rd place finish!
As part of their Innovation and Entrepreneurship course, the team developed iPurify—a groundbreaking device designed to regulate CO2 levels in classrooms. By leveraging the natural properties of algae and integrating a heat exchanger, iPurify maintains optimal oxygen and temperature levels, fostering a conducive learning environment. Additionally, the device features a UV light for disinfection, ensuring a healthier and safer space for students.
The competition spanned several months, during which participants engaged in mentorship and training sessions, refining their projects to meet real-world sustainability challenges. The journey concluded with a grand finale held at the iconic BEEAH Headquarters, where the team’s dedication and creativity were celebrated.
We extend our heartfelt congratulations to Mohammed Houssam and his team for their remarkable achievement, showcasing the innovative spirit of Ajman University students and their commitment to sustainability.
