On November 1, 2022, a public lecture was organized by the Department of Architecture and Regional Planning & Department of Urban and Regional Planning - Gautam Buddha University - India, titled "Computational Design" presented by Mr. Firas Noori, a Senior Lecturer - Department of Architecture at Ajman University
The goal of the lecture was to discuss the Computational Design as one of the most important design methods that depends mainly on digitizing the design process instead of the traditional digital design methods that depend on digitizing the physical model of it. Architects are nowadays are facing new and expanding challenges to create more complicated geometries, design multiple option, and producing results in shorter time frame than before. Therefore, the digital design platforms like CAD are not capable to fulfill the new and increasing demands for both design and construction companies. Computational Design can provide, if well implemented, the new solutions and enhance both the quality and the productivity of the overall design process. Architects and designers are facing new challenges in learning and implementing Computational Design.
