The department of architecture at Ajman University (AU) has organized an important seminar on architectural education in the region.
The key gathering saw the presence of architecture deans, heads of architectural engineering departments in all universities nationwide, and the UAE Society of Engineers (SOE).
In his speech, Eng. Mohammed Mahmood Mashroom, President, SOE, talked about the expected architectural challenges re skills and knowledge.
He also focused the impact of the artificial intelligence, robotic and renewable energies, and the engineering curricula during the three-section seminar.
The first spotlighted the departments of architecture programs. “These spanned Loads; Degree: B.Arch., B.Sc. in Architecture and B.Sc. in Architectural Engineering; National accreditation and International validation of the program.”
Participants, in the second session, discussed the pedagogical issues related to the methods of teaching (theoretical and practical courses).
They also talked about the modalities and procedures of promotion from one rank to another, along with the role and advantages of hiring part timer practicing in the other sectors.
The third session shed light on the perspectives and strategies related to the Architectural Education.
All participants lauded the College of Architecture, Art & Design successful initiative, recommending the organization of similar seminars on a regular basis; once a term. They also recommended the creation of an Architectural Association.
