Wael Hamdan joined Ajman University (AU) in August 2000, bringing with him extensive experience in both Interior Design higher education and professional practice. He possesses deep expertise in interior and furniture design, joinery, manufacturing, and mass production, with additional interests in areas such as auditorium design, TV set designs, material technology, sustainability, and the impact of interior design on health and well-being. With over two decades of teaching experience, Wael has taught at both the BA degree level and in the Interior Design department at Ajman University. Prior to this, he was a lecturer at The Intermediate University College in Amman, Jordan, for nine years. Wael’s professional practice is multidisciplinary, combining design engineering, production, and project management. He worked for four years at Leader Interiors, one of the UAE’s largest interior, furniture, and joinery factories, specializing in large-scale projects, including towers, hotels, resorts, palaces, and villas. As the Deputy General Manager (DGM) for 10 years, he focused on interior acoustic solutions for command and control centers, auditoriums, dispatch centers, home theaters, and operating rooms. Wael also has extensive experience in commercial projects, including beauty shops, retail spaces, restaurants, financial centers, and religious interiors.
