Sahar F.Makky is a senior lecturer and a faculty member in the Architecture department of Ajman University, UAE, where she has been teaching since 2008. She holds a Master’s in Architecture Engineering (2006) and a Bachelor's degree (1986). Makky began her career at Rifat Chadirji Consultancy while also lecturing full-time at the University of Technology in Baghdad. Throughout her architectural career, she has designed several presidential, residential, and commercial projects and has published papers on architectural identity and heritage conservation at international conferences. Her passion for designing and teaching timeless architecture is complemented by her knowledge of sustainability and the green economy. She has been an active member of national and international teams working on sustainable architecture competitions and workshops. Additionally, Makky has played a significant role in community service and volunteering initiatives, particularly in the area of women’s empowerment. Through her extensive network, she continues to bridge the gap between academia and practical work, collaborating with both governmental and private entities.
