Essam holds an LL.B from Al Ain Law School, where he graduated first in his class in 1983. In 1984, he attended Harvard and attained an LL.M.
In his professional career he is licensed as an advocate to practice law in the UAE and GCC Countries. His experience involves assisting several Government agencies in the region to draft regulations on various aspects of the law. He is well versed in advising and assisting in litigation, commercial and civil matters, and have sat as an arbitrator in several cases, have chaired arbitration institutes and he is a member of leading international arbitration centers. He has advised and provided consultation to major international companies on setting up and acquiring businesses in the region.
He regularly speaks at local and international conferences on various aspects of the law and legislation in the region. To share his experiences and knowledge he has published several books and articles on different subjects of law in the areas of litigation, commercial and setting up business.
