The Office of Student Housing (Female Hostel) and the Office of Medical Services, in collaboration with Thumbay University Hospital, celebrated World Diabetes Day at the AU Female Dormitory under the theme "For a Better Life with Diabetes." This event aimed to raise awareness about diabetes while supporting the health and well-being of the AU community. Emphasizing the theme "Empowering Global Health," the event focused on the importance of well-being in diabetes care and fostered a supportive community that empowers individuals with diabetes to overcome challenges, celebrate successes, and lead healthier lives.
Throughout November, comprehensive health assessments were offered, including vital signs checks (blood pressure, heart rate, oxygen saturation), fasting/random blood sugar testing, body mass index (BMI) calculations, and personalized health counseling. This initiative aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 3: Good Health and Well-being, promoting overall health within the AU community.
