The College of Law at Ajman University introduced the Ph.D. program in Law in the second semester of the academic year 2017/2018, following the program's approval by the Ministry of Education in the United Arab Emirates.
The program comprises a group of highly qualified faculty members capable of delivering top-notch legal education in various law specializations. The College's aim in offering the Ph.D. program to achieve a three-pillar system: the Knowledge axis, the Skills axis, and the Innovation axis. This ensures that the program's graduates meet the requirements of the local, regional, and international job markets, keeping them up to date with scientific and technological advancements. This enables them to innovate solutions for various legal disputes within their specialization. Through this program, we aim to prepare a group of distinguished individuals in their legal field, qualified to take on teaching positions at universities and hold prominent roles both within the United Arab Emirates and abroad.

Ajman University's College of Law was established to be a cornerstone of legal education at both the local and regional levels, aiming to fulfill its role among UAE's higher education institutions in preparing legal professionals capable of contributing to society.
The Doctor of Philosophy in Law program was approved starting from the academic year 2017-2018.
To be admitted into the program, the student must meet the following conditions:
In special cases, and with the college council's approval, the student may be conditionally admitted to the Ph.D. program if their GPA in the Master's degree is less than Very Good (3 out of 4). The admission becomes final only after the student successfully completes the first three courses with a grade not less than 80% (B).
The minimum duration to obtain a Ph.D. degree is not less than three academic years and does not exceed five, calculated from the student's enrollment in the program until the date of the supervisor's submission of the thesis for defense. The summer semesters are not included in this duration, and approved periods of enrollment suspension are excluded. In exceptional cases, the college council may consider individual situations.
