The main focus of the Interior Design (ID) program at Ajman University is to holistically prepare students that are ready to take on the market challenges. Our ID program will equip you with creative, yet practical design skills helping you expand your career opportunities. We will do this through industry placement arranged by the program so that you gain direct and valuable exposure of the work place. One testimony to this fact is employment of our students in world renowned and international organizations including Natuzzi, Clive Christian, Herman Miller and Walter Knoll, the list goes on! The ID program is CAA accredited and is currently working to expand its recognition in other regions also. The Interior Design program at Ajman University, ranked No.1 locally and among QS's top 150 international art and design programs, offers exceptional opportunities for future designers and equips them with creative, practical design skills. Advanced facilities feature 3D printers, CNC machines, laser cutters, and the pioneering Lighting Lab, supporting experimentation in interiors. The faculty of the Interior Design program includes a wide range of experienced and renowned professionals including interior designers, architects, artists, and academic researchers. Apart from regular studies, pre-professional engagements are always encouraged for students by our professors, who will support you to find and acquire exciting internships, join competitions, enrol in international and national workshops, attend conferences, visit design firms, and explore manufacturing and retail services related to design and construction.
With us, you will nurture your understanding, knowledge, and application of visual communication, design cultures, and environmental contexts. This sturdy base will strengthen your own distinct style and design language. You will develop impressive interior design concepts, need analysis, and space planning. Additionally, you will be trained to proficiently operate ID related 2D and 3D computer software and robotic machines such as 3D printers, CNC apparatus, and laser cutters. These will enable you to confidently communicate your ideas for various interior design projects such as residences, retail outlets, offices, restaurants, and exhibitions. As your self-esteem grows, you will become more autonomous by experiencing and successfully addressing a multitude of design challenges. Career paths. Graduates of this program are well qualified to join any organization in the interior design industry. The ID program also prepares students for postgraduate studies locally and internationally.

The BID program curriculum, policies and procedures reflect the student’s needs. Upon completion of the BID program, students are awarded a degree named Bachelor in Interior Design.
The Department of Interior Design provides high-quality interior design education to its students by focusing on developing their technical as well as Design and fit-out skills so that they are well qualified for gainful employment in interior design discipline and can effectively contribute to the advancement of the community.
The vision of the Interior Design department is to be a leader in interior design education by preparing creative, environmentally and socially responsible designers who have a local and global impact.
All BID program Goals are aligned with the needs of students and alumni so that they are well prepared for gainful employment, continued development in their jobs, engaging with the community in ethical and professional manner, and proceeding to graduate studies if they so desire. The Program Goals are also aligned with the program’s faculty to fulfill their role in developing and producing graduates who are competent in their profession with theoretical knowledge and practical skills and can contribute in the development of the society. The Program Goals also align with the employers who require knowledgeable and skilled graduates who can contribute individually as well as team members in their professional fields who are capable of updating and adapting their knowledge and skills.
Graduates of Interior Design program shall have:
A sound foundation of tools and skills, the ability to apply them in the design process and its presentation.
Appropriate skills needed for data collection, analysis, design, and evaluation of interior design projects.
The mental competencies to utilize technology effectively conceiving spatial designs and producing communicative construction documents.
The aptitude to collaborate while engaging with various design and construction team members.
A developed sense to recognize and to respond environmental factors as well as cultural, and heritage aspects of a geographical context.
Critical thinking and appreciation of life-long learning.
Advanced knowledge of design and technical tools required to create functional and sustainable interior environments.
Admission to the Interior Design program requires a UAE Secondary School Certificate, or its equivalent, with a minimum acceptable grade of 60% (Elite/Advanced/General Tracks).

A graduate from the Interior Design program is qualified by education, experience and examination to develop interior designs for the purpose of improving the quality of life, increasing productivity, and protecting the health, safety, and welfare of the public. Graduate are eligible to the UAE-Society of Engineers’ Membership. In addition, the department is member in APID (Association of Professional Interior Designer) a member of IFI (International Federation of Interior Design)
