AUST Alumni Joins Pink Campaign

Alumni Ajman University of Science & Technology in cooperation with Sharjah Ladies Club organized an awareness campaign in this Pink Month of October, which promotes early detection of breast cancer.

Ajman University and Sharjah Ladies Club partnered to create greater awareness of breast cancer and raise awareness about the importance of early detection in its treatment while also offering its participants a full schedule of events aimed at rejuvenating body, mind and soul. Tackling the issue of awareness, seminars and workshops were presented by medical experts along with trained nurse who educated the participants on self-examination techniques.

The campaign witnessed a record turnout of alumni and other participants who distributed brochures and leaflets related to the awareness of breast cancer, its causes, and preventive examinations. Pink ribbons decorated the student’s collars and a high spirit highlighted their enthusiasm and dedication to this cause.

Ms. Rana Kalam, Alumni Officer coordinated the campaign and encouraged students and faculty to participate in this noble cause. The awareness campaign not only promoted early detection but also encouraged and supported the victims of this disease by fostering self-esteem and life-style alternation advice. Examinations were conducted for many participants on campus.
