Ajman University echoes with cheers of joy

Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member, Ruler of Ajman and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Ajman University of Science and Technology, AUST celebrated today, 14th October 2014, the graduation of the tenth batch under the wise leadership of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of UAE and the 23rd commencement ceremony since the inception of the university.

The students were given a grand farewell at their commencement ceremony. The event was attended by His Highness Sheikh Ammar, Crown Prince of Ajman, H.H. Sheikh Mubarak Al Nahyan, H.H. Sheikh Rashid bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, and H.H. Sheikh Ahmed Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi. Also attending were the minister of health, the minister of education and Ajman University’s trustees, along with senior public officials, dignitaries and graduates’ families and friends.

Dignitaries, guests and family members cheered on as the graduates received their certificates. The top students of each specialization was honored for their remarkable achievement. Guests were warmly welcomed by Mr. Osama Salman, Vice President of Ajman University, who highlighted the importance of this day and outlined the great achievements the students have amassed along their academic journey.

The ceremony also witnessed an encouraging speech by the keynote speaker Major Amina Khamis, AUST alumnus, President of Policewomen Association.

 

The “Thank You, Khalifa” class 2014 paid tribute to the landmark achievements and remarkable development UAE has undergone under Sheikh Khalifa. The country has witnessed record growth and carved a niche for itself as a leader of economic development in the region and the world.

 

The ceremony was shown live on the dedicated website for the commencement, where students and public enjoyed the live streaming and social media board was abuzz with the interactions. The hashtag #austgrad14 was trending as number 1 in the region because of the high frequency of tweets and interactions between the students and university.
